My name is Deborah Lilley and I am a qualified Celebrant. I qualified in 2014 after deciding I needed a creative outlet for my flair for organisation and attention to detail. I am originally from Essex in the East of England, but moved to South Australia with my family in 2006.
I am professionally trained and legally authorised by Australian Commonwealth Law to solemnise marriages anywhere in Australia and its Territories. I am also able to conduct any type of ‘non-legal’ ceremony you wish for. I abide strictly to the Code of Practice for Celebrants and am a member of two professional bodies. The Association Of Civil Marriage Celebrants Of SA (INC) ACMCSA (www.marriagecelebrantssa.com.au/) and The Australian Federation Of Civil Celebrants (The AFCC) (www.afcc.com.au)
I am a vibrant, fun loving and young at heart person. I especially love anything vintage, from the 20’s flapper days to 50’s rock-and-roll. I have an extensive retro dress collection that I’ll happily wear for any occasion, but especially when it fits into the look of a Wedding! I am also a film fanatic and a secret geek. I grew up on a screen diet of Star Wars, Dr. Who and all things Si-Fi (Thanks Dad) and love the opportunity to let out my inner geek in Wedding ceremonies. Do you want a Celebrant whos comfortable to dress up? Then I’m your girl!
I am flexible and it would be my pleasure to work creatively with you to deliver your perfect ceremony. I see it as my job to put your dreams into action, to make your vision a reality. I am a confident public speaker and have a clear voice with or without a microphone. I wholeheartedly support marriage equality for all couples, regardless of religion, race or gender.
I am also a fully Gilwell woggled and Wood Beaded Scout Leader in the Scouting Association of Australia. As such it is my dream to marry a couple in full scout uniform (one day I am sure!)
My motto is ‘My passion, Your wedding, Your way’ as I feel that reflects my commitment to your very special and unique day.
